Meet The 'Build Tiny' Family

Build Tiny is a small family business with big aspirations for Tiny Homes.

In 2016/17, Gina designed and built her own Tiny House with Brother-in-Law Jason. The whole family got involved and had so much fun in the process. We saw a need for reliable, experienced Tiny House builders, and felt as though they would make the dream team. With Jason as a builder, Gina as a designer, Amy with her management experience, and parents Ian and Diane with their extensive experience in running their own business it was decided to break all the rules and go into business together - and so Build Tiny Ltd was born!

Since then they have taken on an incredible team of builders, cabinet makers and boat builders with exceptional skill and experience.

Work Completed to date

The Build Tiny team have never built two tiny homes exactly the same, and hope to keep it that way.

When you visit the website for the Build Tiny team one thing you will notice is they have great experience having completed a large number of homes since startup. We will feature a number of these Kiwi Tiny House’s in future but today we will focus on their latest build ‘The Bitser Tiny Home’ completed in March 2020.

Bitser

A cute little 6m tiny house, this one packs a real punch, everything you need in just 12 and a half sqm.

Why Bitser?

“Every now and then we end up with surplus building materials and spare tiny house components, so we decided to make a tiny house using the 'bits' and 'pieces' we had lying around... hence the 'Bitser' tiny house was born. An existing set of windows and 'leftover' kitchen cabinetry informed the design and layout and we ended up with a fully-featured yet very small tiny house!”

“At only 6m long it's on the smaller side compared to our usual builds, yet has all the features you've come to expect from our work. For the first time, we put the main door at the back of the tiny house, saving crucial wall space for everything else. We're rapt with the light and airy look and feel we were able to achieve with this one. We had initially planned to sell the Bitser on completion, but our in-house designer Gina fell in love with it during construction and decided to buy it off us for herself before anyone else got the chance! If you love it too, get in touch and we'll build you a customised replica!”
